Yet another NSX is dead article

Lovely. All of this speculation is giving me gas. If the article is true, what a complete letdown for the NSX and S2K communities.

Seems that the new big wigs at honda really are the opposite of late 80's, early 90's management. Its sad that honda had always been on the cutting edge of technology and racing, but today focuses on the masses and biggest profits. Japan still obviously gets the better cars, but i really think the US market is dead for honda sports cars. Forget the DC5R or EP3R, and there is speculation that the 05 S2K might be the last production year too.

NSX supposedly going in Rip van Winkle mode...and a Boxster fighter (I guess the S2K doesn't compete?).

Yeah, I don’t understand that part either.
Rebadge the current S2000 as an Acura, call it something lame like PSX, increase the MSRP by $15K and you have a Boxster rival.

Hmmm, doubt they'd sell many of those either.
People just don't want to spend that much on a Honda. I sure as hell would, but I’m a Honda nut.

The people at Honda are getting more stupid everyday...geez wat happened to the good ol' days where car's looked like cars and not hover crafts. Honda's gonna destroy the NSX sales wit that model.

I totally understand all of your points about honda going downhill, but at the same time, I'm glad that they're killing off the NSX. I'd rather there be no NSX than to have one that looks like that next gen picture that everybody has been seeing. That new NSX is incredibly ugly, and it sickens me that they were considering changing it to that. Besides, lets face it, 99% of the people on honda-tech couldn't afford a new one anyways, so why do you care that its being put to rest? As great as the NSX was, it can't go on forever, and I'd much rather them end it now rather than to make an embarrassment out of its name. It didn't sell well in the past, so what makes you think it'll sell any better in the future knowing that it would have looked the way they were planning?
End it now, and save the legacy of it.
Unfortunetly, the bad news is that now every NSX owner will jack the prices of their NSX's even more because its even more "rare". blah blah blah So instead of finding a 1991 NSX for $25k minimum, you'll be looking at more around $30k-35k minimum for one with 150k miles on it.

I seriously doubt that. They might but I wouldn't hold my breathe waiting for it to sell.
I saw a '91 NSX w/ 6k original miles and the guy was asking something like $65k?
*smack*
You can get a brand new '04 for like $72k 'ish. With the right motor and tranny already installed.

Vandergriff Acura was desperate a few months back selling one with delivery miles for like $74k +TT&L. An extra $10k to get a brand new car would sound attractive to me if I was already planning on spending $65k for a USED car.

That is more like $74k ish not 72k ish
Maybe the used car was in Canadian? I think back in 91, new nsx was ~69k?

Well, off the top of my head $72k was a good original guesstimation.
besides, what's $2k dollars? That's chump change.
