Default Engine knocking

I have a 2000 civic dx and my engine started knocking yesterday. I was wondering can it be fixed or do i need a new engine. And if i do need a engine where can i get a good price on gsr, si, or ls engine.

Thereare a couple of different reasons your engine may be knocking. But if you are looking for a new engine then check out the sites i've posted for you.

That could be one of the many things that can cause that. Start out by checking the basics and ****. Also make sure you have oil and **** in the engine.

well first thing to check would be oil you might have low oil and not enough pressure, next check your valve lash you might need to tighten your valves or you might have a bad wrist pin on the piston if it comes down to the wrist pin junk the motor and go with your b-18 setup you want, good luck

Could be bearings. Did you notice any metal shavings or flakes in your oil when you drained it?

well you could get an automotive stethascope and use it to find out were the knock is coming from and that will point out the prob. any local autozone should have a stethascope

i had to drop my oil pan to see the shavings cuz they wouldn't drain out.
