Could i install deck in 97hatch?
could i actually install this? its an older model pioneer, jus temp for CD play, i have the wireing harness from bestbuy....everything that is needed to do it. the problems is i dont have like the protective plate around the thing so it looks nice and professonal when its installed and bes buy wants 40$ to install it, i think me and my moms friend could, but my mom wants me to go to best buy.....i dont wanna waste money goin twords proformance in the car......

If I remember correctly, there's like two phillips screws under the center of your dash. There's also a screw behind the right side of your steering column, behind the driver's side under dash (which needs to be pulled down). There's also a screw on the left side of the passenger side, behind the glove box. There's also a 10mm underneath the same side, facing you, where the glove box starts to hinge. And then you should be able to pull the plastic panel under the radio. Disconnect the cigarette lighter. I think there's two 8mm bolts holding the radio bracket from underneath where you just pulled the panel off. And then you should be able to carefully but firmly remove the radio and black plastic trim all out. Then unplug everything carefully and everything else should be pretty self explanatory. Have fun and afterwords, you'll probably have said, "I should've listened to mom."
