Default CRX HF/B16 swap question/problem

<U>YES, I have done a search. Searched CRX swap, CRX B16 SWAP, wireing, wiring, wiring harness, ect......... Nothing touched my question here.</U>

I am not new to the game of Honda's, have done countless swaps, DPFI to MPFI comversions, and my personal car is a 480whp Hatch.

But, this car that was brought to me as a basket case has me scratching my head. Its a 91 HF CRX. The guy attempted to do it him self, pulling the old motor and instslling the B16. No problem there. He gave away the HF motor, harness and all. He then bought a SI harness. No idea what year. I installed the SI harness on the B16. Everything plugs up fine. Checked the wire colors, enging side to the chassis side at the shock tower, and all colors match up.

Now the problem. NO SPARK. All grounds attached. Swaped ignitor and coil, cap and rotor, no help. Swaped the B16 ecu for a pm6 (SI) ecu. Nothing. The B16 ecu is throwing IAT and temp sensor code, the SI ecu is throwing ELD code. WTF is going on? I have used a PM6 SI ecu to run a B16 before.

Is there something I'm missing? Any hints on what to check? Is the wrong engine harness being used here? Anying appreciated.

Are you sure you have the timming lined up with TDC? theres a intake and exhaust stroke so even though the crank is lined up to mark on timming cover it still could be 180 degrees off. If it is take dist. off spin 360 degress and line up the marks and put dist. on

maybe when matching up the wires from engine harness to ecu harness the notorious white wires for the dizzy got swapped.

I'm also assuming you checked for fuel?

Did you say all the wires on the Si harness already matched the HF ECU harness on the shock tower's? cuz they shouldn't have!

BTW you get a ELD code cuz the HF doesnt have one but the pm6 is expecting one.

Did not have to repin anything. ecu side and engine side all matched up, coloc for color. Fuel is fine.

You can still bolt on the dist wrong the dist and crank spin 2:1 Even though the dist only bolts on 1 way the rotor could have been spun so its no lined up so do what i told you does the rotor point the #1 spark pug when the caps off?

Add as many ground wires as you can... seriously. Ground it with a giant 4 gauge wire if you have to. Also, if the dizzy was ever wet, that could be the problem. If you think your Dizzy is dead, call Hmotors, they've got some known good used ones for OBD0 cars for pretty cheap. Also, follow the wires to and from that large Amber colored connector... if even one of those is popped out, you'll get weird codes and the thing won't fire...
