I'm having some problems with my tranny (2nd gear to be precise). Sometimes when I shift from 1st to 2nd and give it some gas, engine just revs(as if it was in neutral) and car doesn't go. This does not happen to any of the other gears...only 2nd. But some times, it shifts fine. There are no grinds. Just the revving every once in a while when i shift into 2nd. Kinda annoying cause I have a pretty loud exhaust so whenever it happens, people look at me like I'm trying to rev up my car or something. Oh, and when it does happen, it tends to happen twice or three times in a row...so I just give up trying to get into 2nd and throw it into 3rd at like 10mph which makes the engine stutter a bit until it picks up the rpms. Any ideas as to what could be wrong? Bad tranny? Hopefully I don't need to get a new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

it sound like your 2nd gear slips...when you think it in...and you step on the gas it just rev sky rocket high... i have a 00 civic dx tranny it does that to me sometime and when i go over a bump 2nd gear pops out... what i did was i change the tranny fluid it "helped" it a little bit but it still happen but not as much...remeber it helps not cure hehe i used regular oil which was 5-30 (Castrol) ... i think i should of went honda tranny fluid...but i didnt care about the tranny cuz it just a daily driven car...i dunno i hope this helps
