Intake Piping Shortened
I have an f22b1 with greddy headers, 2.25" exhaust. I also have an AEM air intake that i just cut at least 9 or 10 inches off of and now I have a lot better throttle response. The filter is only about 5 inches away from the throttle body, o2 sensor still mates up with the intake piping and everything. Although I gained a million hp from this mod, i would like more power w/out forced induction. Has anyone done an fseries buildup? or could refer me to someone that has. (valvesprings, retainers, valves, pistons rods blah blah blah) I really have no idea about internals and all motor setups. I only know the basics of how they perform their task. Thanks

lol... why not just stick the filter on the TB?
You most likely didnt get any HP from running a tube 10 inches off the TB, you may have gained a bit of throttle response and may be mistaking that for an increase in power...
Ive played around with different lengths myself and have seen all shapes sizes and lengths on the dyno as well over the last few years...
trust me, the throttle response is misleading

Do yourself a favor and buy a Helms manual. Either that or stop working on your own car before you blow it up.

Alright, whatever that line is for, the aem intake came with a piece that mates up to it.. all i was sayin is that, that piece still attaches to that line. I dont think ill blow my car up by shortening the intake, thanks though.
btw I have a haynes manual and it sucks, do i have order helms from honda?

the closer it is to the top the better throttle response. try hooking up a filter to the throttle body best response but will get heat soaked by motor hp go down basically homie wutever u wanna do. as long as you like it try to put a heat shield around it or use a stock air box as a heatshield i dunno ur call u have a picture i would like to c it.
