Default AC bracket question

95 CX
2nd gen B16A

Ok, so I am pretty sure the Del Sols will work (was told that's what this is). I think this is a 1st gen B16A bracket. Reason being is that it seem the compressor is mounted to far in for the hoses the face it right, and the CRX has a smaller bay, but then it seems the bracket wouldn't line up with the motor and the bay...and the pulley slide and mounting is completely different, as noted in the pics.

Anyway, if someone has this bracket let me know, so I can figure out the mystery. The only other explaination I have, is that the euro ones are different.

the bracket you need is the P54 (38930-p54000) and the area indicated is for the tensioner pulley adjustment. i dont think there is any diff in the blocks worldwide.

yeah, he's right...correct me if i'm wrong, but from looking at the picture you provided, it looks like the compressor should be shifted to the left(if you're facing the engine bay). I can't really tell where it's mounted, but it looks like it would work. I've had friends(myself included) that simply ran the 2 bolts until the P54 bracket was purchased. and yes, the area circled is for the idler pulley...it looks about an inch off, when you compare it to the crank pulley...good luck

On my bracket the tensioner bracket is built in.

It's very close, but the holes are off by a very small amount. And yes it is to the left of the compressor, and it doesn't seem like the hoses can bend that way. But the tensioner bracket won't mount on at all. The compressor right now is being held on by one bolt on the bottom.

The European Del Sol (CRX) used the P30 bracket for all years, only the CRV had the P54, it is a special order part here, and it's 190 euro

You need the tensioner from a DOHC. There is no way possible to use the SOHC on that bracket. As for lining up the pulley it looks as though you need to use the mounting holes closer to the exhuast manifold. I hope this helps you out.

Yea, I already ordered all the parts for the P54 bracket, which sucks, because I could find those here, since the little mounting crap is all the same as the P30 bracket I have now, but I don't have time to find it, and Honda Europe charges out the ***.

I had a complete bracket and tensioner I could have sold you but you would have only had two bolts in the compressor. I changed out my compressor for a DOHC compressor and used a 99-2000 si bracket. I thought i was going to save some money but i then had to buy one of the a/c hoses. You probably are better off buying the p54. In the long run the cost is about the same. But you have to factor in recharging if you replace the compressor. I have a friend that does it for cost so it seemed like a good idea. Good Luck getting a/c.

Well, I was going to wait and piece it all together, but today this happened...

I had two bolts holding the compressor on the P30 bracket for the time being, but they broke, and the hose laid on the header till it exploded.

thats why i donr recommend using the 2 bolt method. it WILL break. the bracke has to hold the pump AND control the torque/twisting of the motor.

sucks.
