Distributor or starter? Car won't start!
I can hear the fuel pump turn on,all spark plugs and wires are good, but when i try to turn the car the dash lights go on and off repeatedly and i hear a ticking noise coming from the pasenger side of the engine bay
thanks
thanks
If the engine dosent turn at all its starter related, the distributor has nothing to do with the engine in that sense, Could it just be a low battery? try throwing a charger on it once to check it out, When a battery goes bad it can still put out 12v but only 4-5 amps plenty to run the dash lights computer and FACTORY radio, but when you try starting the car you need over 100 amps and the batter just wont produce that which is why the starter clicks and the dash lights flicker or blink cause the starter is trying to draw all available current and there isent enough to go around.
Try jump starting it tho just to check the battery possibility
Theres a way to test battery and charging system if you want to know just hit me up, DO NOT USE THE removing of negative terminal methode that can seriously damage your Ecu ext with newer cars.....

Could be froze, try hitting it with a hammer to free it up. If that works REPLACE the starter cause it might work for a while but it will just freexe up again on you....
The solinoide is propably working fine but the motor itself is jammed giving you the clicking noise. You normally dont hear that over the starter and motor. It is normal tho for the dash to blink mine does that too. When you turn the key switch to the start position it interups the circuit to pretty much everything but whats needed to start the car and a few accesories such as the rado to give it all the current the battery has available.
