Default coilovers

I saw two good deals on ebay

set of nex coilovers
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1

and

set a a'pex ws coilovers
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1

Which ones should I get? I've never heard of Nex but I've heard of A'pex and I know for a fact that they make quality stuff.

I second that.... They look like a true coilover kit, but are these good quality brands??? I think I might go for Agx KYBs w/Ground Controls....seem to be an overall good setup

Uh, Apexi is one of the best brands in the world (as far as car parts go). I got them on my car and I love them Although they don't offer damper adjustability, I've found the setup to be a good balance for a performance street car.

I guess it really depends on what you use your car for. For a daily driver the Apexi coils are fine.

For autox/road race, I'd suggest going the Koni/GC route, because u can always get stiffer spring rates and easily rebuild the shocks.

I've got a 5th gen. I've had the coils on for almost a year now and for me (daily driven and occasional track visit) its ideal. The ride is firm yet tolerable. I'd say they're worth every cent of $500

see, with the apex'i, that system seems like its worth the money, but explain something to me if anyone knows, the system is said to be great, but if you live in a state where the roads are like a high school kids face, then all the bumps and potholes are so bad, it rattles the car to death, you think this apex setup is really made for daily driving, does it dampen the shock from potholes and stuff like that very well?

Well I try to avoid potholes as much as possible and living in NC the roads aren't nearly as bad as up north. Still I easily put several hundred miles on my car a week and I don't even think about ride quality. It's totally a non-issue. I've driven a lot on bad roads around here and I really don't notice it. It is stiffer than factory but like I said before, for what I use the car for, its perfect.

I agree with all you guys, but I just like having the ability to change the dampening if I did go with another kit...ya know??? So do any of you think that I could possibly get a better deal, for oh say....$600???

Oh, yeah its bearable. Its almost comfortable If I had to guess I'd say its about 25-35% stiffer then factory.

oh thats not a bad amount at all, ****, i think i can rock with that, maybe instead of buying springs, i'll take out the existing coilover, take out the koni adjustables, sell those and get this apex'i world dampening system coilover set, and i think i can get install for like 100 around my way...just have to find out...thanks for your help!

Dude, since its the complete setup, its super easy to install. I've installed springs and shocks separately before and it was twice as difficult as the coilovers. Save your money and DIY

wait, explain something for me, does it come complete or does it require you to have a spring compressor and **** like that? see, if its just a complete unit that requires basic hand tools for the job to get done, yea, i can do it myself, but, if not, well, then its a different story...

but yea, worst comes to worst, a co-worker of my mom, her husband is a mechanic and he does any of the major work necessary for my family's cars...so you know...but DIY is a must...****...i'd need to find someone who knows their **** to help me, thats all.
