Ebay Generic Coilovers $70 shipped...or Brand name $300???
I was wonderin abt buyin some coilovers to give my car a more aggressive look and feel and decided to ask all you entrpreneur pro's. I can get em on ebay for 70 or pay for the real deal for 200-300. Are coilovers all the same ****, or am i gettin my "moneys worth"?
what makes u say so?? is it cuz it doesnt matter or cuz u have em or something? im just afraid of poppin em on and hittin a pothole in the city and havin one of em breakin ****** up my axles n ****
I have ground controls on my 99 civic coupe and they make all the difference in handling and ride comfort. I went cheap the first time i bought suspension and sometimes i still have flash backs of me bouncing every around everytime i hit a bump. DONT GO CHEAP it will haunt you in your dreams

Hence the reason you buy the "real deal" Ground Control coilovers with top quality Eibach ERS springs.
With the cheap imitation brands, you have no idea of the quality of springs you are receiving.
Just remember to upgrade shocks when you upgrade springs . . .

That's just $300 for the coilover itself. After that, don't be cheap, you'll need to get some shocks/struts. Factor in another $300 for them. IMO, get a full bodied threaded coilover such as Omni Power Full Coilovers. $700 shipped. Full threaded, already assembled, already has the shock, and great quality.

i went with the tein ss, ride is very smooth and when at higher speeds they react very well, ive seen the cheap coilovers in action (my bros car) that **** hit hard as hell on every bump and ended up destroying his shocks, he upgraded to apexi n1 pros and he's loving it (andres-eh2) ... definately worth the investment to go real deal!
when tuning your suspension, you don't want to buy garbage, or your car will ride like garbage. If you don't trust us, try it out yourself.
The shitty ebay coilovers have shitty workmen ship. They put WAY too stiff of springs on them (500lbs+) which in turn give you an extremly bouncy ride. Also, these will also kill your shocks in no time.
Finally, the sleves will probally fit like ***, and when you hit a bump, they will make a **** load of noise.
GC's are probally the only sleeve coilover that I would trust on my car. Everything else is a peice of crap.

i have arospeed coilovers. i have had them for like 3 years with nop problems. ride is real nice, not bouncy at all. And i know there are some other people on here that have them also. And as far as a cheap coilover going out on you, that would only really happen if you installed them wrong, or there is a manufactuor defect.
i personally had a set of fake ground controls off ebay on my first hatch. to tell u the truth they rode real nice. but im sure its also due to the fact my car was only dropped 2inches. i also had some good shocks. now im sporting real ground controls
with some tokico blue shocks

If you dont have a lot of money to spend and arent going to upgrade the rest of your suspension ebay is great!
yeah ebay **** is a waste of money - use that 70 bux for something else, TLC for the car would be a better way to spend it then some **** **** **** ebay coils. I just spent around 600 on my GC's and AGX and i can honestly say it was worht every penny. Now I just need some 40profile tires! (anyone?)
I mush have got the luck of the draw
I paid 47 bux shipped for my coilovers and my car rides great, no bouncing or anything....but afterall i got 550's and 450's and i already had absorbers
