Exhaust Manifold Question
I bought a B16A (XSi) swap for my 88 CRX Si. I know that the A-pipe is about 3 inches too short to reach the cat, but my question is will a D-Series (more specifically from a D16A6) A-pipe reach the JDM header? If it does, does it bolt up or not? Also, will the D16 A-pipe have any clearance issues with the oil-pan\block?
I gotta pass ECheck ( emissions gheyness for Ohio... ) and the exhaust is stock. I don't have the money to drop on aftermarket exhaust, and if I can avoid welding in three inches of pipe and rotating the flange, I'd like to see if I can. I'm guessing that the D16 A-Pipe will clear the motor, but I don't know if it'll reach the flange on the header. And if it does, I don't care if it bolts up just as long as it touches and the exhaust can pretty well make it down the A-Pipe. Even if it doesn't reach the header and clears the block, do you think it'll be way the hell too loud for them not to check under the hood, or do you think they will just look for the cat and put the sniffer in?
