i am building a b16a1 and so far i only have a short block but will pick up the head soon. what woul di need to get extra if anything to make this pass smog in my 1990 crx si? i need this car to pass because it is my transportation to school. thanx

it if will pass tail pipe then it will pass at a smog station, unless they are doing there job and do a visual. then you'll have to go to a Ref

there is no way to pass at Ref with B16A in CRX unless you convert your wiring and electronics to OBD1. Since the B16A will show up as a Del sol engine you'll have to have that particular wiring/ecu...blah blah

 

You need all smog equipment from a 94-95 del sol dohc vtec. You would also have to convert the wiring from obd0 to obd1 and then go to the smog referee where they would basically say your car is a 94-95 del sol dohc vtec. From then on you can take it to any smog station when you registration is due and get it smogged completely legal.
