GSR INTAKE Valve springs, and ITR exaust springs are the same?
You can move GSR intake springs to you exhasut side and run ITR cams if that is your concern. As if their spring rates are the same I am not sure.
http://www.lightningmotorsport...a.htm
This site lists the them as the same part number.
What i would like to know is if pre '00 itr intake springs are the same part as the gsr intake springs as well...

All ITR valve springs are the same as far as 97-98 and 00-01.
The GSR intake springs are the same springs as ITR exhaust springs.
ITR intake springs are unique.

Our friends from sunnyside Acura says you is wrong. What are your sources?
http://www.acuraparts247.com/s...ch=no
first link confirms the gsr spring #'s as acurate to my previous link
http://www.acuraparts247.com/s...ch=no
and this one says that the '98 ITR intake springs, and exhaust valve springs, ARE the SAME as the gsr's intakes...

this one confirms the '00 is different.

All ITR intake springs (double):

GSR exhaust springs (single):

So we've got two acura dealers saying two different things. I assume you pulled up the specs on these parts specifically?
My other question is could acura have possibly changed the replacement springs for the pre -'00 itr's?

Read the catalog again.
The second link you posted :
http://www.acuraparts247.com/s...ch=no
does not list #10 and #12. Those are the intake springs.
It also lists two #11's. One is a valve spring and one is a crankshaft. Perhaps Sunnyside's online catalog needs a little work?

your right, i missed that, i could have sworn i saw it there. Is there a conspiracy here? Is acura trying to hide something haha.
Its just the lightningmotorsports link that says it now, and you say they are wrong.

One other question i'm researching is, how do we know that the itr intake springs are stiffer than the gsr intake ones?
Anyone would assume they are, but the ITR intake valve's are 12% lighter (internet claimed). So less weight to control. I've read some posts on team-integra saying a reputable engine builder said the itr springs were less stiff, but another builder says they are more stiff.
One poster on this site said that Richard Holdener says in his Honda horsepower book that the itr springs are <U>less stiff</U>, but i have yet to find the passage.
Maybe this is the wrong thread to ask this, but maybe you have some Acura sources, b19coupe.

I am not sure which is stiffer. But here is something out of the Acura Integra Type-R Technicians Guide about valve springs:

"The unique oval shape allows a stronger valve spring to be fitted in the same area as a conventional spring".
Sounds stiffer...

well, that oval shae will give the spring more metal, seens like a weird way to make a spring less stiff. Its possible tho, that it just helps it control the extra compression better.
Obviously springs do have tolerance, or they wouldn't have used gsr intake springs for the itr exhaust. But they didn't use those spring for the '99 si(r) intakes with similar lift but extra duration https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=388612
On another note, i did find an absolute definate error on http://www.lightningmotorsport...a.htm this page. It lists the same part number for both inner and outer '00 si intake springs.

here..

they only sold those springs as a set, hence the different part number. I'm also told that they're identical tho, and i'm also also told that they're no longer available under that listing. Somthing is just very weird about all this to me.
