Accord weight and horsepower?
I have been interested in a Civic for a bit, but near where I live they are not so common. There are a few nice Accords that have caught my eye though. I just have a stupid question
. EX Accords seem to have very good horsepower, but they look heavier does this affect them at all? Just asking a bit of questions before I shell out money for a Honda.
Also I would like to know the opinions on some of the other members. Should I stick with my idea for a Civic or switch to the Accord?

What are your goals of the car?
Personally, the accord is more roomy and plush versus a civic; its the cadillac of honda (roomwise).
Yes they are heavy, compare a 3200~lb accord with 140hp to a 2300lb civic with 130hp...it takes a little more money to make the accord go faster.
IMO everyone has a civic or integra but accords are a desired tastes, choose accordingly (no pun intended

My goals probably sound
bad to some people, but I'm looking for performance and speed. I want a fast Honda, with out doing a engine swap. I would rather spend more money and install a Turbo. Now, I wanted to add a turbo to the EX, but guess what the Civic EX is a hard to find car around here for some reason? I noticed the accord because of the more horsepower, but I wasn't sure if weight really hurt it. Thanks for the quick response

Do you live in Antarctica?
Yeah, Accords are heavier but I wouldn't agree with them having good horsepower
I'd say go with the Accord (who wouldn't? it is, after all, the Accord forum).

Hey they are YOUR goals
....
If they are for performance without having to swap engines...the accord would probably be a better bet just try and get a 94+ (more turbo parts available) and do a compression test on the engine. 5 spd is a must

I ran a Autotrader search and only found one Honda Civic EX in a 53 mile radius. A lot of near by dealers are into domestics, and I wanted a EX for the extra horsepower, but I guess I will probably settle for a DX and just try my strange ideas with that. I'm not into the whole swap thing, so I guess that hurts me.
Well The Accord doesnt weight a ton more i mean i know someone with a type r swapped civic coupe that wieghs around 2500 with him in it and it is almost totally stripped out
