It should be no more than $500 at local glass repair shop/mobile units. The ones you're getting quotes must have gold specks in them.

Your gettin Raped dude... I was just call up a glass company that does cars windows.. and tell them u want a new one.. They will Roll up fix it & leave $100-250
I just replaced mine after cracking it at Gingerman last monday.
It was $240.00 through a local place, BUT, Wai has done the same work through a national company and paid similar money. Maybe he can chime in with the info/link as i don't have it handy. Also, that included a new window and disposal of the old one with no need to drive the car (done at your place, be it work or home).
Edit: Found the link. http://windshieldstogo.com/wizard1/

Yeah, dude, i know in florida, it's illegal to drive with a broken windshield and because of that fact Insurance companies have to pay to replace it, but it should not cost $2000.

This place is awesome. I crushed mine on a Saturday, and it was replaced on Tuesday in my garage. Very prompt and excellent service.

You can get it done for $60 in Chicago too.
But you need to be really careful with how competent the shop is. You don't want it to leak or even pop out of the frame in case of an accident.

It is EXTREMELY important to get the windshield replaced properly. Lots of low cost/shady places do a poor job

Well, this blows - i had the windshield replaced on Thursday and today (Monday) i already have a large stone chip on it. I'm certainly not looking at becoming a frequent custommer with the glass company
I'm going to try to fill in the chip. Some more info on options from http://www.allstate.com/Claims...d.htm

Surprised Rob hasn't chimed in on this
Anyway, a new Honda windshield will be in the $500 range (I know, I threw a fit when mine was cracked and insisted on OEM glass, just for that little H stamp
). Aftermarket should be $250 or less.
