Default ctr pistons in lsvtec...I need the truth!

okay, i know this topic has been covered 50 million times, but everytime i get 50 million different results, i cant seem to get a straight answer on the cr of ctr pistons in an ls block with a b16 head, I've read that the ctr is 6.35cc all the way to 8.63cc and piston to deck height from being anywhere from stock ls height of .030 to .020 for b16b height and .010 b/c some say you should deck the block and mill the head to get a "true seal." And all these variables can push CR from 11.7 to 12.8, could someone shed some light on this subject? TIA
P.S. oh yeah, i already searched

I dont think there is a need for name calling here, I thought we are all here to give each other a helping hand.. not demean a guy and then help him.
Thanks for clarifying things though, I'm sure its appreciated.

I'm taking a motor apart tommorrow for a guy in town. Supposely, he has CTR pistons install, motor last for like 500miles and went BOOM.

Should be fun working out in the sun tommorrow.

Its possible, but i wouldnt recomend it. Those calculations done by "Altered" are correct. C-speed is wrong.

Holy **** guys, this has been covered so many times.

The c speed calculator is WRONG for PCT's in an LS block. The piston to deck height should be ZERO.

Well johnzm, this is my point, this HAS BEEN COVERED 50 MIL. TIMES but like previously when i searched on not only H-T, but google, lycos, yahoo, i noticed the IB website has the piston cc's different than the c-speed website, and so far in this thread we've seen CR #'s from 11.7 to 12.8 like i said before, so lets not turn this into bash the n00b, i got varying answers from different sources and felt the good people of H-T could supply a clear and concise answer... i guess not. So before you assume i didnt or cant search... i did, thats why i'm here, b/c the diff between 11.7 and 12.8 is HUGE which is something i dont have to tell you guys. But thanx for the help anyway although i still havent got a clear answer so is it 11.7 or 12.8? TIA
