Took out the passanger seat of my 2003 Civic EX Sedan to trial fit some S2000 seats. When I put the seat back in the airbag light didn't shut off on my idiot light panel. Any suggestions?

 

Have it reset by your dealer.

 

Does anyone know if there is an airbag sensor in the seat that only deploys the airbag when someone is sitting in it?

 

OK.....basically want I need to know is if I put S2000 seats in the car, will the airbag system still work? Do I need to transfer the seatbelt sensors? No one at the HONDA dealershios have a damn clue....this is frustrating......

 

i haven't touch seats(as far as replacing etc.) since my ek. don't count me on this, did you pull any sensors/ plugs? i remember seeing a plug for the seat off the del sol seats i had in my old car.

 

yeah. I temporarily took out the wire for the sensor. My big question is.....what is the sensor for? and can I transfer the setup to the new seats? What did you guys with aftermarket seats do? This is frustrating cause not even honda freakin techs know what the hell the sensor does....................

 

I know in the newer Honda with side airbags that if you pull the wires from the thing that you fasten your seatbelt into your SRS light goes off too because the side airbag is tied into the seatbelt system.
