i know that an irregular clicking at start up means that i need a valve adjustment, but i just did one. i finished up with my complete engine rebuild yesterday and the last thing i did was a valve adjustment. all the valves were within specs. what else could this clicking noise be? it sounds like its coming from the fuel rail/area around the fuel rail.
any suggestions?

could be anything from injectors to piston slap.....especially if it's a fresh engine build. My last build, I went a little looser on piston to wall clearances, and have slight slappage on cold start for about a minute
all depends on the ticking.....
just hope it's not a rod knock or anything. I don't know what you did to rebuild it....
DOes it go away with temp, or stay constant?
