Default Immobilizer question

I have a 2000 ITR, the previous engine blew and parted it out(including ecu). I purchased a full 98 ITR swap and am about to put it in. I was just wondering if the 98 ECU will work, and if the immobilzer has any affect on it since its a different key. When i had the alarm installed, the installer told me he bypassed the immobilizer, does this help?

TIA

98 r ecu will not work on 2000-01 Rs. you will need to get the right ecu for it. 00-01. then take it to the dealer to re-program the key.

the plugs are different. so it will not plug in.
best thing to do is just get a jumper and a chipped p28, or use a 00-01 ecu, then bring your car to the dealer to program the keys.

You can just get a OBDIIB -> OBDIIa conversion harness for close to $100 and the 98 ecu will just plug right in.
