Default TSX K24 in a RSX type-S

do any of you know of anyone doing a TSX K24 in a RSX type-S? I have a guy here that hydrolocked his type-S using a coldair intake so he may need a new block. I would like to swap in the K24 but I have never seen anyone do this swap. I think it will work epically if we use the Kpro.

rsx/ep3 forum is a bunch of bolt-on bandits. do your research. There are tons of threads on here about people doing it.

actually here, let me save you the trouble.

what do you expect alot of people can't get a car and start taking it apart. I'm not flaming you but that's the main reason. R & D cost alot.

I think the K24 block, K20A2 head and K20A3 oil pan will be the best. TSX is "drive by wire" so the head won't work on the RSX's "drive by cable" without major mods. But building a frankenstein would solve the issue. The hydrolocked RSX-s' head can be used on a any k24 block, I think. To save money, you don't really need TSX block, unless you want to achieve the same compression as in TSX. An accord, element, cr-v block will siffice for added torque, and K20A2 head will give you the true VTEC you had on the RSX-s.

Do you know if the head will bolt right up? Or is it like doing a ls/vtec. You need to get dowl pins and run an oil line and so on.

what are you talking about bro? a TSX motor is exactly what you want. Its a k24 bottom end built for a type S head. It has a stronger crank and rods than the CRV/Accord components and you get higher compression which 4 cylinder always wants. The head IS slightly different I believe because water necks and such are slightly different, but it still has 3 lobe intake and exhaust cams. Of course you would ditch the intake mani and TB in exchange for type R components or type S if you dont have the bux but already have them from your k20a2.

If you havent figured it out, a k24/Type S combo REALLY IS a poor mans TSX motor.

can you confirm this? bro?

have you taken EITHER of the engines apart, or know someone who has? I want proof, this doesnt sound like something honda would do to stretch a redline by 500rpm.

i believe the 99mm crank and rods are the same on all the k24's just different pistons for higher compression ratio.

not true, the TSX has different rods... however i highly doubt there is a different crank.

and i dont see why people post crap like that without knowing

SBE - your statement is false...

you can't JUST put a type-R/S intake manifold on a TSX engine...

to further my claim here is a pic of my TSX engine.

and here is a modification that needs to be done.

I think i'm the only one with a TSX swap in a DC5, nobody has yet to claim it.... or have proof of the engine.
