Default Wiring a AutoMeter Air/Fuel Ratio Guage properly?!!?

hey guys!
I recently purchased a air/fuel ration gauge for my 92 accord to watch my mixture since i have added fuel regulator for all my mods(soon to turbo). Anyways i had it tapped right into the O2 sensor wiring...but recently after i took it to the shop for an arching distributor problem....they ended up cuttin my wire that i had running to the O2 sensor!! they said it was causing a lil pop/popping in the engine....something about the meter taking away from ther signal!! are they full of **** because how the hell are you supposed to hook these up correctly then!! or did i just have an old O2 sensor!!?? someone please tell me the correct steps/wires/ etc etc to hook this up!! thnx GUYS!!/GALS if there are any!!

They are full of it. The Autometer gauges draw like .00000000000132904392847 amps of current. Your "pop/popping" was likely due to a dirty or malfunctioning O2 sensor. I have had my AFR meter hooked for over a year with no problems.
