99 Accord/ Prelude type S Hybrid won't get past 3500 rpm?
99 Accord/ Prelude type S Hybrid won't get past 3500 rpm?
This is what i have:
99 accord AT
H22A Type S Swap to MT
DC Headers
2.3L Injectors (don't know the cc sorry)
AEM CAI
Skunk2 Programmed ECU (vtec 4600 revlimit 9600)
(Wanted to hook up a turbo setup when i get back From Iraq)
This is the situation:
I have had the swap for a few months now and the swap was running great no
problems vtec kicks at 4600. Always used highest octane with octane booster
due to JDM Spec. One weekend I went home to Los Angeles and I Put the fuel
treatment with injector cleaner, it was fine on the way up there and almost
all the way back to AZ. Right before i go on the off ramp i down shifted and
the car bogged down hella crazy and what ever gear i was in i couldn't get pass
3500. Once i got off the free way i stop at the gasoline station and check
under the hood i noticed that my distributor was kind of sqeeking. Then i got
back into the car and started it and it was running normal. The next day I went
to work and the car started acting up again and finally just died. So I thought
it was the distributor. So I changed out all of my sparkplugs and
cables, Changed my rotor and cap. But still nothing. I pulled off my
distributor and tried to turn the rotor by hand but i couldn't move when i opened
it again there was some red dust inside (i am thinking my bearing may have
went out) i finally got my rotor to move not as freely as i think it should be and
i started the car. And it still does the same thing. but my cat started to get
red hot after 5-10 minutes of the engine running, so i took off the cat and
tried starting it again. Still the same thing, went to a mechanic and he
said possible fuel restriction, so i bought a fuel filter and fuel pump. Still
nothing.
CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME!?
I was reading the other post and now i am thinking it may possibly be my ecu?
Can it possibly be my vacuum lines?
I was told possibly the ecu might have went into a safe mode or limp mode?
somebody please help?

It sounds like you need to replace the distributor and reset the ECU. That would be an expensive but it probably needs to be done.
get the distribtuor replaced, sounds like it is dead as you have noticed.
and i would put the right injectors in. you should have 5th gen lude injectos that are 290cc onews rather than the 240 or 270cc ones that you have in there now.
