Default How many of your friends understand the Ef passion???

If you have friends that are into cars, how many have an ef??? I know when i got mine nobody liked it. I gave them rides and stuff and showed them what i liked about the cars and now my best friend has a b16 hatch, my other best friend bought my old hatch and is in the process of building a b16 fully built. My brother is getting one in a couple weeks and another close friend is getting one tomorrow. All are hatchbacks, but i started this with a crx. So how about You???

I get this from family and friends whenever I want to add another ef to my collection "Why do you want another one of those old pieces of crap"

None. Most of my friends are in to trucks and muscle cars. Two of my friends have EGs, ones slow but really clean, and one is stock with a B16 swapped in because he liked my motor. He said he likes the way it feels in my car a lot better though because of the mounts makes it feel violent in the EF.

i have a couple buddies who are into imports. there arent many people around here who truly lik/understand the ef "addiction." alot of people around here are into newer cars. im always getting the "why are you dumping all your money into this 15 yr old car?" and i respond with "what are you wasting your money on a new car for when you could take that money and build a car that would make everyone **** their pants!?"

my crx doesnt even run right now (damn b18a1) but i wouldnt trade that car for anything....

I have a 91 hatch that I just bought. I am selling my 3 series bimmer and man do I hear **** from everybody. "Why would you sell a BMW & go to a civic? Especially one that old?" My first 3 cars were honda's & I miss the reliablity & tunability of these fine autos. Don't get me wrong you can make bimmer fast also, but the parts are twice as much (Headers-$1500, cams $1200, ect.). Besides the fact that for what it costs to maintain the bimmer, I could buy another civic.

Lama, how the hell do you live in Orlando and not have friends ?? Its one of the five major Rice cities in central Florida !!! Tampa, Lakeland, and orlando.

What I don't understand about the EF is its resale value.... $6000 for a crx ?? yea right... Bitch better have an ITR motor with a Turbo and come with two sets of tires !!! Not to meantion be perfect in everyway, but of course that sort of EF would commant $10K in an autotrader !!!

What's up with EF guys thinking that if they put $1000 into a car they should get $1100 MORE outta it ?

I think the thing that my friends dont understand, is the obsession with JDM parts and what originally came on the EFs. I try to explain to them "its like buying a rare car, barely anyone has them.... it's about having a CR-X with options that no one else has seen or even has heard of." I live in South Dakota, and to have a CR-X with the real taillights and power options makes it a "rare" car if you will.

Just my two cents.

Everybody thinks my car is a piece of ****.
It's the total opposite to me.
It has it's issues now and then but that's to be expected.
instead of a car payment i do a high $ mod every month.
Then they go for a ride and are like "holy ****".
I haven't even touched the internals yet.
The 4th gen civic in one of the nicest cars one can own.

I get this comment all the time.
"You bought at pos, u put a new motor in and spent even more money. Why they hell didnt you get a new car!"

They dont understand the sexyness of an ef hatch.
Ya its got hella problems.
Ya I overpaid.

But I love it and would rather have a car I worked on, then somthing new.

Dave

i also get sad when i see nice rex's that people rice out and ruin

i can stand outside of my car and stare at its curves and the way things flow together and never get sick of it. its a love, as wrong as it sounds.... it is a form of love and passion that not many understand, and its a good thing to know that people appreciate these fine cars for what they are, not for their resale value.
