Real Time R's... Anyone have pictures of there engine bay? Looking at remote oil filter location.
I remember a while back seeing that the RealTime Type R's have a remote oil filter location where the battery would normally sit. Does anyone have pictures showing this?
Also, has anyone done this?

George,
If you want run an oil cooler, the remote mount is necessary. I just finished installing my cooler and remote filter mount. I will post the pictures in a little while.

ppihctypr,
Before I removed the power steering components, the car weighed 2309 lbs w/ 3/4 tank of gas. Have have only removed pieces that are bolted or attached to the car -- i.e. NO sheetmetal trimming.
D,
I am running a K&N oil filter (#HP-3001) right now. It was a choice between a Fram or the K&N, so I opted for the K&N at the time. It's quite a bit larger than the stock filter, and holds about 1/2 quart of oil by its self.
I picked up all of the components at a local industrial supply store, and the adapters from a local race shop. The total cost for everything (Earls 14 row cooler, filter relocation brackets, -10 lines, Earls fittings, etc.) was around $350 I think.

Hey Andrew (not to hijack this thread),
Are those perma-cool fittings? Could you provide me with a part number for the adapter at the block and the oil filter adapter? Also, it looks like you have two unused lines at the filter, correct? Could they be used for oil temp/pressure senders?
BTW, very nice setup. I'm trying to put something together like it myself. Thanks for any help.

ITR#231,
I used this Honda Hybrid article as a basis for my install. It contains all of the part numbers and necessary information.

Ben,
Here is a passenger side view of the ducting -- its pretty primitive. I hope to fabricate some actual brackets once the splitter and undertray development are complete.

I used heavy duty zip-ties to attach the ducting to the tranny mount and suspension points.

Nice setup. Does all that extra plumbing and the oil cooler require an additional pump in the system somewhere?
When you change the oil do you have to do anything different when you drain it, or does it all drain out like normal?
hrm.... first time i ever noticed they cut out a portion of the frame of the hood......

No additional "pump" is necessary. I just got everything plumbed and running, so I have yet to perform an oil change -- though I don't think it will be any different, except being easier to get to the filter.
The oil system now requires 6.5 quarts, and the filter alone holds over a half quart.

What kind of battery boxes have you guys used to relocate the battery? I'm also assuming zero gauge for wire?
what arm did they use on their cars with that nsx airbox?? was it the one from a nsx?
