How good are these subs and is this worth the price:

I've heard that MTX is great and the new 9500's are even better but figured i'd get some more opinions on them

I love mtx myself. Some consider it a low quality manufatcuer. They have made huge strides in sound quality over the past 8-10 years. Havent used those yet. May wanna take a look over at caraudio.com and check their forums for reviews.

 

You should really find someone with them, and listen to them. I've heard good things and bad things about them.

I've heard they are pretty loud but lack in soud quality. That they need alot of power and if not given a huge amount of power they will not produce much quality sound (this is true with many "big" subs, but I've heard that it is moreso with the 9500).

But to spend that type of money on a sub, you should really go listen to one, and talk with the saleperson about them, ask them what they think, and if they've had alot of returns on them...things like that.
