mugen vs. spoon
I was wondering what some pros and cons were of each exhaust. What does the spoon n1 exhaust sound like with the silencer on and off. Does it sound good and not like a fart can. ANd is the Mugen really worth 3 times the spoon.

i have the mugen one and i love it. the reason the mugen one is three times as much is because it is a catback and not just a axle back. the spoon one is 350 for the axle back and 250 for the bpipe. mugen is better imo
i had both system.
i had spoon n1 first.. with stock type R b-pipe. it's not THAT loud. and i loved it.
until i got T1R b-pipe. it sounded like open header when i'm doing rev match.
so.
now i have t1R b-pipe with mugen twinloop. i love mugen. it's really damn quite at idle.. probably like stock. and when it gets heated up.. it sounds different.. little meaner.
but when i had mugen cat back.. it's more quite than my current set up.
if you dont mind the def'ing sound from spoon.. i'd get it.

The Mugen exhaust is very good quality and has a excellent sound. It's main drawback is that it really shines with the JDM midpipe and in order to use that you either have to run a test pipe - or cut the Mugen b-pipe back and use an aftermarket catalytic convertor.
The Mugen resonator on the b-pipe is huge and will scrape on speedbumps if your car is lowered. It is also a VERY HEAVY exhaust system - but I'm sure this is what gives it its nice sound quality.
The Spoon catback is lighter - but noisier too. I personally am not a fan of the exhaust - because you have to use a silencer in it to muffle the sound - which is like sticking a banana in your tailpipe.

A friend of mine had both on his rsx. The Spoon is semi-loud at full throttle (with Spoon b pipe), but it was also fully polished. The whole damn thing, including b pipe, was polished. It looked really good. Mugen is quiet, but I don't think you'll gain as much with this exhaust as you will the Spoon. The mugen has some weight to it also. If you are looking for a very slight increase of sound and performance over stock, get mugen. Otherwise, Spoon
