Default Autometer Dual Gauge Bezel Sucks

I decide the dual gauge bezel is the look I want for my gauges. I order the Autometer/GaugeWorks dual gauge bezel from vendor A. I receive the item and its all scratched up on the inside. It looks used and there's no way it could have been damaged from shipping as the box and outside of the bezel are fine. I complain and vendor A sends me out anther one. It is also scratched up on the inside but not quite as bad as the 1st one. I call up vendor A and they apologize and tell me both units came direct from Autometer, and they offer to pay for return shipping and refund my money.

I order up another Autometer dual gauge bezel from another vendor. I receive the 3rd unit today and its all scratched up on the inside! What the ****! Autometer must have the shittiest quality assurance team ever and I hope they read this!

Ive seen tons of these things installed on peoples cars and Ive never see any with scratches on them! Are you people painting these or what? It looks like **** and normally I wouldn't care but this is an interior piece that will get alot of attention.

Here are some pics of the scratches. Every unit I got was scratched up in a similar way but in different spots. Is it part of their shitty manufacturing process? Whats the deal here?

Damn da **** if FuC# Up yo!!!

Naw just play-in i understand what you mean when you pay for something you want it right. call autometer up and see if they can hook you up with something for free thats what i did with my n20 gauge. it was all messed up when they sent it to me then they forgot to send the sending unit i know next time im going with greddy or some other company tho.

Eww, wow that sucks man.

I guess it's the nature of that finish on the bezel. It's not like their pillar pods which are rougher and textured. The bezel is smooth, so I guess anything on it would scratch it.

Just seems like **** poor quality in the end though. Send it back.

EDIT: Muckman, I thought you had an S2K for some reason.

i got one used, it doesn't look anything like that. The finish is fine. It has fitment issues that i haven't worked out yet. It's in, just doesn't fit perfect

Im definitely going to return this on Monday. However I still want a gauge bezel for my gauges. Is there another company who makes these? I just want a good quality piece, is that too much to ask for?

Shamoo - I don't have a S2k but Ive talked to you about buying one before so thats prob what your thinking of.

J337_UNIT - Why didn't you return yours? Did you get another brand or just give up on the bezel idea?

same here... after researching.... the bottom line that sold me was a guy who HAD the autometer one said the ebay one fits BETTER. I would think its the other way around but I'll take the word of a fellow H-Ter. So I'm happy with my Ebay ****. Only down side is the pod containers block a little of the fuel and temp gauge. But I think I'm just gonna trim mine a little and that should fix it. Its not important so I've been putting it off. You can see CLEARLY if you are low on gas ot overheating.

Crap! I was planning on buying the Autometer one. I don't know what to do. It's not cheap either. $110CDN, I don't really think it's worth getting. I still have time to think it through.

So it was just dirty then, not really scratched?

I think the Autometer one also blocks the temp/fuel gauges slightly???????

yea, I haven't seen the Autometer one in person but I was told and by looking at pictures... it seems to taper inward allow more of those gauges to be visible. The Ebay ones goes straight back. But all that room isn't necessary so I think it can be cut a little at a angle to expose more of the blocked gauges.

I plan on contacting Autometer Monday as I stated above. I received the 3rd one yesterday (Saturday). Hopefully they can sort thit out for me. However I'll bet money they will try and pass it off as shipping damage.

Ive looked into the Ebay one and it does cover up the fuel and temp gauges more which I dont like.

My scratches cannot be cleaned off. I wish it was that simple.

Thanks for the support.

Update I sent back the 3rd one I got from Summit. I requested they exchange it but this time visually inspect the bezel before sending it out. The customer support rep called me a week later and told me they inspected every one of the 13 bezels they had in stock and they are ALL scratched and he is returning all 13 to Autometer. He was shocked at the low quality of the bezel but kept sticking up for Autometer. So I have given up on buying a new one. Unbelievable.

Anyone have a used Autometer gauge bezel for sale that is NOT scratched up?
