What connector does this go to? EM1
Car is a 2000 Si I recently had my timing belt saw 2 wires in half that appear to go to something behind my crank pully. I'm thinking it's gotta be my crank position sensor, but the car could still crank over and start when the wires werent connected. I've resoldered and heat shrunk I just want to know what it is. Thanks
thats what I thought, but how was my car still able to start when it wasnt getting any signal from it?
If this is the crank position sensor, can you wire them backwards or is it just a normal ac siganl either way? Are they polarity sensitive?

im not sure if you can hook it up backwords or not but I do know that your distribuitor has a sensor that determines the position of the cams/crank so that might had something to do with the fact that you could still start the car. Beside the point, but did your car drive the same as before, cuz it might retarded the timing a bit if it had no crank posiotion sensor. 98ctr
as far as I can tell. I've been having starting/charging problems with it and I was hoping that the wires that were cut were to the alternator and that would have solved my problem . . . but I was stumped when I noticed that they went behind the crank pulley.
