90 Honda Accord - Leaking Oil out of side of engine like mad
Hey everyone.
Today my sister moved my car and while she was doing it, the car suddenly
started leaking oil out of the right side (if you are looking at the
engine from the front of the car). It leaks very quickly where it actually
leaves a trail when moving the car. A couple months ago I changed the oil
and found that the spark plugs were covered in oil. I didn't know if
Hondas are like that, or if it could be something serious. Could these be
related? Also, what could be causing the leak right now?
Thanks.

Wes
If it is leaking that bad its probably empty....I would check for a hole in your oil pan or your drain plug is missing/loose etc.
After that I would try and pinpoint it by either cleaning off the engine bay then looking for a visible leak or set a large piece of cardboard under the bay and let the drips fall where they may.

good answer. I would also check the valve cover for leaks.

Well actually i found the main problem now. Oil is pouring out of the lower seal(im not good with cars - but its the spot where the wheel turns with the belt on it, on the lower right.)
will this be an expensive job to fix?
thanx for the posts

That is probably the balancer shaft seal and that was a recall which you may want to see if your dealer will do it. Otherwise you will have to pay to have it done.
