Default Going Rate for JDM Recaros

I just picked up a pair and am curious what the going rate is for a set. They are absolutely perfect with no marks on seat or even scratches in the plastic. They could pass for brand new. They are out of the Spoon CTR (red). Just curious and am in no hurry to move them as they are too pretty sitting in the showroom!

Whatever it is, its too much.. Just buy a set of new US-spec SR-III's in black with vision sliders.. They will be new, probably $1000 cheeper, less obvious for those looking to steal, and work just the same.. Sure, you cant brag to your buddies that they are the real "tiiite jdm stylez, yo dawg", but, that is a small loss to some of us..

Koy - Yes, they have no marks on them at all. Simply amazing.

The JDM Recaros are much, much more snug of a fit. I think the US SRD seats just plain suck...yes, suck. They are bulky and uncomfortable, even for someone who is large in size IMO.

I had the JDM seats, although I forgot to talk in the lingo you described...sorry

I don't think they're worth the crazy $$ they're going for but i must agree they are DAMN nice seats to sit in.

David and Mike (R&D,IPS) You guys know about the material from the Recaro's SRD's (III's)???? I heard numerous negative remarks about the Recaro's SRD's seats. Only the Red SRD will "FADE" after time?? Is that correct?

I heard the Red SRD will turn pinkish-orange color after time? Not the whole seat, but the headrest? Is this true?

If so b/c im not going to waste $1200 on a pair of Recaro's SRD (Red-color) if there
going to turn pink in a couple of years

Is it really worth it to buy JDM Recaro's instead of the SRD's? If so, then have you heard of the Red SRD's turning color?? OR perhaps the color red FADES??

I havent heard any "fadeing" or color change on the Black Recaro's? Just Red

Im really into Red to match my white DC2, so you think i should get the JDM one's
instead, since the material is better and perhaps last longer? Remember these seats are NOT going to use VERY OFTEN.

Just show purposes and only use in the weekends when im racing on the track?

What do you guys think about my dilema?

If anything at all, the us market Recaro SRD uses "avus cloth" which is very thin and is very privy to punctures and fuzzing of the material. The difference and quality in material alone between the oem jdm SRIII compared to the SRD is very obvious.

I previously owned a set of Recaro SPG which uses the same cloth. For about 5 months, one was installed in the car while the other sat in my garage. When I took the seat out of the car (I was selling the set) I immediately saw an obvious difference in color. The seat that was in the garage was alot darker, more solid black than the one I used in the car.

So yes, my experience have shown that the color will fade. If my once ebony black seats turned into a off-black (enough so it's noticeable) color, then red would probably turn pink.

I think regardless of what color you get, it will fade.

Just put a cover on it already

-Aoib0t, who covers his seat to avoid fading and Recaro detection whenever appropriate.

I heard that the JDM Recaro is much cheaper here in Vancouver, since so many ppl have them, it is not even a rare item anymore. But then, in Vancouver, there is no rare JDM items, hahahha.

I think they are worth about $500...but since I'm a nice guy, I'll give you $600 for the two. Just kidding....happy turkey day to my american ITR comrads!
