turbocharge and emission in minnesota?
does turbocharging make emission hard? Im planning to build a custom turbokit, but im worried that i wont pass the emission test. by the way, i live in minnesota. any minnesota people who turbocharged their car plz reply.

Yep, up until 97 or so. Used to have to get my car checked every year, or no tabs would be issued. Nothing like the California inspections, though. Just a tailpipe sniff and a quick undercar inspection with a mirror and you'd be done. Oh yeah, they also checked your fuel cap.
It had no noticeable effect on air quality, so they stopped doing the testing.

im in the process of plastigauging my rod bearings. thats no biggie but i need help getting my car started. its a long story but i broke my timing belt while driving which fucked up my valves so i boght a used ls head and got it ported. then put a new head gasket, timing belt, water pump and tried to start and it smoked from somehwere i dunno and wouldnt start. solid code also. which was my excuse to build my car with 9:1 CP pistons, eagle rods. and so i have a feeling when i put everything back together my car wont start again. and sorry to jack this thread.

=] yesss...no emission over here. some dude that worked at car x said they plan to bring it in like 2 or 3 yrs tho. i just kinda said whatever...=P
