94 oil pan,will it fit a 97 motor,sohc dx?

Default 94 oil pan,will it fit a 97 motor,sohc dx?

i just tried and it seems to be a hair off,is this true?its a 97 motor dx,im trying to put a older,i think,94 oil pan on it.

They will not interchange. I found this out the hard way.

I tried putting a y8 oil pan onto a z6.

y8,y7,y5 = same.
b7,z6 = same.
The b1,b2,b8 are probably all the same as the z6/b7 but I have no personal experience.

which engine code is for the newer aluminum style pans?will one of those work on the y7 97 block?i was thrown by the black pan being on the 97 block ,i thought it would have the aluminum style when we got it but it had the balck one.
