Default install: (92 civic si/jdm h22) apexi vafc I; do i have vtm wire?

just want to know for my own knowledge. im having it installed by a friend who's done it before, but he's never done it on a 92 civic h22 equipped. does the swap make the install different? install shouldn't take more than an hour even if your new to it right?imo.
thanks guys, and i know i might get some flames on this but i searched and no one has asked my specific question on the vtm.
FIY: funny how i got the vtec controller, friend of mine totaled his car, and sold it to me for 150 bucks, which he already owed me, lmao! my luck this month has turned around.

well a friend who supposedly has installed a vtec before volunteered for the install. he didnt use the vtm, cel code 21(vtec solenoid) is on, vtec engages sometimes, throttle pressure no workie, and engine redlines now at 6500 rpm rather than 7400 rpm. its kinda late to look over the wiring myself but ill look into it tomorrow. he crimped the wires( no saudering, or however its spelled) im thinking he might have pinched cut the wires when crimping and thats why only sometimes vtec engages, although the vtec light on apexi controller engages everytime but it doesnt feel the same. he said he had trouble hooking it up because of the fact i had the swap, but that it was all hooked up. any suggestions fellas? im thinking about getting my volt meter and pin pointing every hook up to make sure they all line up.

that may be the reason why the cel code 21(vtec solenoid) is coming on right?
