I've used BG Synchroshift and GM Synchromesh. Love 'em both, the latter seems to help the synchros engage a little better.

The Honda MTF is crap for track use, IMHO. It breaks down easily and shears, and it comes out about half as thin as it goes in - its cheap 10w30 motor oil with a few anti-wear additives.
The pennzoil/synchromesh is the same stuff, and it is thinner than Honda MTF. I dont know if its any better at breaking down under heavy use, but its still too damn thin for even street use, IMHO.
I am using Motul Gear300 - I love it, 4 events on the fluid and it still shifts butter smooth, better than the Honda stuff ever did. Its a 75w90 oil, full synthetic (OE honda is 75w80). Any synthetic 75w90 should be fine for track use - Redline, Neo, Motul, etc.

Honda MTF is actually a non-detergent 5w-30 motor oil with additional additives....for information purposes.
At the least, run Honda MTF. Has served me and a lot of people I know very well....road racing, autocross, and daily driving.

honda mtf. never had a grind. car is autox only. changed very frequently. you could fry chicken nuggets in it right out of the car.
i also thought that the honda mtf was 5w-30 with adds.

Honda recently revised their MTF. Ive used it for track days, autox and daily duty with no problems. The new formula did help with the high rpm 4th gear grind I was getting but it didnt solve it completely. Ive used both older and newer fluid and IMHO the newer stuff did a better job with the grinding prob. My .02.
I have run Honda MTF in my H4 cars trans for the last 2 years. I change it once a year as a precaution. I have no problems with my trans, shifts very smooth!!!
side note - this trans was rebuilt (new bearings/syncros) and has a quiaf LSD in it. I have only run MTF in it.

So is 5w30 recommended for most transmissions? I have an Integra GSR LSD transmission in my Si.

I run ROyal Purple trans fluid, and motor oil. When I first started using it I was still driving the car on the street. I'm not sure what was in it before, if anyone knows what OPM puts back in when they swap a motor (previous owner.) Anyway, there was a hill by my house that I could only take about half-way up in 5th. After the Royal Purple I could not only hold 5th the whole way up but I could accelerate. Call me a liar if you want but that what happened.
did you use synchromax or motor oil? thanks. because the RP catalog says use 10w30 for honda trans so i'm a bit confused now

I am running RP engine oil in the gearbox. No problems. But I am on a rebuilt gearbox w/ Quaife so I didn't have any grinds to begin with.

I've had the most success with Honda Transmissions using Amsoil's 5w30 MTF.
I'd get 2 events on the OE fluid before I couldn't downshift back into first at high RPMs, and 7 events on the Amsoil fluid.

I'm pretty much a ***** for Amsoil motor oil. Haven't tried their other products yet though.
Dude, if you like the motor oil, you will LOVE the trans fluid. Every one of our Honda guys that has made the switch from ANY fluid has been more than happy.
so its pretty half and half on what people have luck with. what about http://www.evasivemotorsports....ENEOS
anyone ever tried?

I could use Honda MTF for free if I wanted, but don't. I use Motul Gear 300, like .rj, it works amazing in both the racecar (b series LSD tranny) and in my Mazda3. It is also better than Redline MTL or MT-90 IMHO.
