question about security systems (not alarms0
i once saw this security system that was not an alarm. it was rated one of the best theft deterrents on the market and they even had it featured on 20/20 on abc or something like that. i really forgot what it is called. i was hoping you guys could help me. it is not any gps tracking thing and it is not the http://www.powerlock.com . i think it's like something that you put under the driver's dash and you put some key in it or something and the key is not able to be copied. do any of you guys know what i'm talking about? or can you give me any suggestions on security systems besides the autolock and alarms and the powerlock. i don't mean kill switches or anything like that i mean like another deterrent. oh by the way i am thinking of getting the compustar 2wss model alarm. besides the basic install with a fuel pump kill switch and a seperate battery that would power another hidden siren. what other things should i have them do with the install? they are charging me $500 for the basic alarm and install and any other features are extra. am i getting ripped off?
Its called an immobiliser,[spelling?] there lots of them out there, nothing more then a kill switch,
Hood pin and trunk/hatch trigger, do starter kill with the alarm, and do fuel cut off with a hidden switch, layer on the security, so if they get past one ,it does not disable the rest.
As for it being a rip off, that depends on what kind of job they are going to do.
I charge $120 Can. ,3hr @ $40 per hr, for basic install, all soldered connections, all unused wire removed, no stripping or cutting oem wireing, all wireing camod, and cpu hidden.
hope this helps.

If you solder all the connections, how is that you don't touch the oem wiring?
I'd like to know how you do that!

</TD></TR></TABLE>Every wire that you have to connect to has a plug with metal pins in it , unplug, pop out the metal pin, solder to metal pin, reinstall metal pin into plug replug. and I didn't say I don't touch oem wireing I said no cutting or stripping oem wireing. thats how I do that, get it.
