help w/ scan code - P0441 - insufficient purge flow in EVAP control system
i posted in the tech forum (for the first time) as well, but i'm hoping someone in here can help.
my check light lit the other day, and i just had autozone use the scan tool. the code that came up was "P0441 - The PCM has determined that the purge flow in the evaporative emission control system is incorrect for the current engine operating conditions."
what does this mean, in layman's terms? is this something that just effects my emissions, or the beginning of a serious engine problem? basically, can i still autox in the morning?
thanks for your help,
phil

that fault is an emission related fault. I would not worry about it unless you need to get your car smoged. On the cars I work on, I usually find a vacuum line to the gas tank leak detection pump broken, or a bad valve to purge the gas tank fumes into the intake..
We usually get a lot of customers with evap codes due to a loose gas cap.
Your car is perfectly fine.
