are the windows on all model crx's the same?
some girl saw my rex and said do you know where i can get a new window for my rex, its an si. i have an si and have replaced one of my front windows a long time ago. i was wondering will a dx or hf crx window fit just like an si window will? she says she had a guy tell her the si ones were smaller. i thought they were the same!....anyone???
my friend has a 88 CRX DX and the windows are a little bit longer than the 89-91 CRX's. He has 89-91 CRX windows in his 88 and they dont fit too well. if anyone can back this up, then go for it.
No they change 88-89 and 90-91 are different.
Plus the location of where it was made is different form another location.
Exaple: You have an 89, u look nder your hood it says made in Canada.
You cann't use a window from a model made in the usa. It wont have the exact fit.

Size differences are because of pillar-mounted and door-mounted seat belts. The door-mounted belts would mean the windows are a little shorter and pillar-mounted belts leave room for slightly larger windows. This is the only difference I think there is.

OK, FROM 89 -91 DOORS ARE THE SAME,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, They have Seatbelts mounted on the doors, and the trim outside the door is bigger......... So the window's are Smaller than 1988 CRX's since they dont have seatbelt mounted on doors.
actually the 89 hf has pilar mounted seatbelts too. I am pretty sure 88 hf, si, dx, and 89 hf windows are the same, and 89 dx, si, and 90-91 windows are the same.
WTF? if your car has pillar mounted seat belts then the door glass will be LARGER(88 and some 89's) Otherwise, you need the smaller door glass to compensate for the space the door mounted belts take up (most 89 and on).

Door seatbelt models have strengthening beams inside to support the seatbelts.

Okay? That has nothing to do with windows.

If you had one you'd know it.
The windows on all model 88's and HF's are the same. (larger)
The windows on all other models are the same (smaller)
All that stuff about where the window was made is a bunch of BS.
The outer trim piece on the door of 88's and HF's is split. Half on the door, half against the rear window. On other models, it's all one piece on the door, so the glass is about 1-2 inches shorter.
The guy I sold my CF hood to had just been duped the day before, bout a non 88/hf window for his 88 SI, had a big gap, needless to say, he was a very uncomfortable man: A constantly open window in the rain with a CF hood stuffed INSIDE the CRX.

Im sorry but thats just ridiculous.
If the windows werent the same design, they wouldn't shut/seal properly. The ONLY way it'd make a difference is if there were different doors for different places to accomodate different windows. BUT, Honda's not stupid and keeps **** the same world wide.
I'll buy any CRX window anywhere, so long as it matches my model, it will fit no problem.
