88-89 CRX SI Cluster in 88-89 Civic Hatchback Dx wiring help
I've already searched, but I have no idea what pins to move around so that my temperature gauge works. Ive seen several wiring diagrams but I still need help deciphering it. Help please

you guys all have different problems or wiring probs. I own a 88 DX HB, and I got a 89 CRX SI cluster, plug and play, no wiring just plug it and go, It should be that way for you guys too, I think yall screwed something up on it.
To much misinformation. No they are not plug and play! The CRX cluster and Civic clusters wiring is different. Believe me, I tried a **** load of CRX clusters in my Civic and none of them worked.... I put in a cluster from a 89 Civic si into my 89 Civic DX and guess what..it worked. So pretty much CRX=CRX CIVIC=CIVIC. They are not plug and play! I would also try to keep the years the same or 88-89 and 90-91.
Agreed, I have been down the CRX cluster mixed with my HB body a few times, and only one thing worked. I took the Harness diagram from EF-Honda.com relating to the 90 CRX Si and rewired it for my 88 Std Hatch. Took about 5 minutes. The biggest deal was transferring the bracket and shroud to match my dash.
I highly reccomend staying Civic-Civic/CRX-CRX and within the years sub-models.

Holey smokes...so many posts and so much confusion!!
I have switched over many 88-89 dx to Si clusters plug and play!
During those years, there are "two" different mfg's who makde the clusters, both with different pinouts. In the Corner of the Speedo at the bottom, it will be stamped either NS or ND.
ND= Nippon Denzo
NS= Nippon Sieki (sp)
Just but the coresponding cluster to what you have in your current ride....boom, plug and play!

All the wires are color coded, just remember same side is same side, you will have to extend about 3-4 wires, but it should all work out. I swapped in a 91 auto crx cluster into a 88 man hatch
I have an 88-89 LX 4D cluster in my 88 std, works just like it should. Except the temp gauge is a little lower than it should at norm op temp. but oh well....
