Default Temp gauge help

Ive searched, but havent found anything pertinent to my problem. After swapping in a crx si cluster into my 89 hatchback, the temperature gauge shoots up to above high, but my old cluster's thermometer works fine. Is there any way I can alter the si cluster so the temp gauge works?

Are they both 89? just swap in the temp/gas gauges into the other ones.

my 88 crx si does that too, like when i hit a bump it will bounce right up to H or above. If I smack the cluster cover it usually drops down.
