That's my thoughts too.

I'm trying to find positives in the 2.2L engine, hoping that I will find something better about it, but it's just not happening.

Keep the 2.0 litre for definate. I dont like the new style alloys either. The 5 spokes should have been kept, but just inched up, or the CTR style alloy fitted.

I think I favor the new rims as well. I've no experience with the motor, though.

I recently traded in my '01 with the 2.0 for an '04 with the 2.2 and the car actually feels better. In the high RPMs it feel exactly like the 2.0 (even the same length of time in vtec, regardless to the 1000rpm less redline) and in the mid-range it feels stronger.. I no longer have to downshift into 5th to pass cars in traffic...

and the new alloys are def better IMO to the older ones.. they have a Work Emotion look to them

Thanks for the insight jdm AP1...

Here's a thought though...even though they increased torque in the engine, they put those 17" wheels on. Do you think that with the 16" wheels that the torque increase would be even more significant?

NP :D

I am not to sure what the wieght differnace between wheels... but overall diamiter with tire (top to bottom) is the same than with the 16".
Wiehgt would contribute to rotational mass which may increase torque.
Either way I use a set of '01 OE 16 with Hooisers for AutoX...

Coming up on the 25th will be the '04 1st AutoX and I will see how she does compared to my old '01 as well to what the differnace is between the 17's and the 16's ... I'll post feddback on the forum

Please do....I am going to have to reconsider getting an '04 versus and '02-03 model.

I knew I didn't want an 00-01, just for small and simple reasons (i.e. plastic rear window), but I and going to continue to research the 04 design and see ifI can't be conviced to get one of those instead.

Your gonna run the 01 wheels on the 04? If so, that's gonna be illegal in A-Stock.. hope noone protests you.
