i'm doing a DIY painting job soon on my 01 HX rims and am wondering what color i should paint them. i will have a cf hood, black accord front lip, black EG or EK sideskirts, and some sort of black rear lip (total DIY). also the car is blue. what you guys think??

 

since the car is blue I would say gloss black.
but if it was mine, i would go with the gunmetal.

 

i guess i'm worried about the HX rims looking like steelies if i paint them gloss black because these rims have a bunch of spokes that aren't very far apart. would the gunmetal match the cf better also??? thanks for the input

 

im not sure about which would match the cf more.
i would say do a test like on a peice of cardboard.
then hold it up to the cf and see.

Just make sure you look at it from all angles.
that cf seems to change in diffrent lighting and diffrent angles.

 

i used duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint on my HX weeks, turned out nice. I began to think I should of did bronze instead. Post pics when you paint em!!

alright, i went and looked at paint today. there seems to be two gunmetal paints. a light one and a dark one. the dark one is better but the paint selection was sucky. there wasn't any black btw. should i look at other places (i went to autozone, i bought new windshield wipers ) i could go to advance auto... idk i think gunmetal is what i need.

I think Bronze HX wheels would look very nice on blue..

After you paint, make sure you polish the lips, makes them look 100x better.

 

i never considered bronze before now... its growing on me though. anyone else got an opinion?
