just like the topic says, i really need a vss and no longer have my si tranny, but I can get ahold of a 4spd vss but i'm not sure if its the same.

 

sohc vss will not work with Dohc Tranny

 

why would sohc and dohc have anything to do with the speed sensor..

everyone else on here says use the d-series vss in the b-series trannys.. so, anyone on here know?

 

because the sohc speedo gear is made of plastic while the dohc is made of metal

there fore you can intechange the two

Would you like to back that up with some fact, experience, or some sort of reasoning?

 

you can use a 5speed d vss in a y1 tranny i did worked fine it was metal dont know about the 4 speed one but i would guess that it would not work cause of the gearing. m2c

Seeing I'm running a d-series unit in my Y1 I don't see why it wouldn't work.

 

anyone know about the 4spd gear? its either the 4spd gear or i'll have to wait till the mechanic with my old tranny gets the vss out (its stuck).
