Carbotech 1108 (EP3 application) update
39,650 miles with $24.99 Autozone rotors
Beaver Run 2day
VIR Full 3day
VIR Full 2day
Summit Point 2day
Charlotte Motor Speedway 2day
Deal's Gap weekend
No ducting
OEM splash guards removed
K24 Frankenstein motor (i.e. more HP than the stock A3 motor)
Still playing with the rears (OEM, Bobcats and now P+) the +'s are the ticket as of now since the suspension changes

P.S. And for those who say the non "R" DC-2 chassis in hard on brakes, remember the EP3 has the same size brakes and is 2,900 lbs with driver..........I think they held up perfectly.
Enjoy

And I just commented in another thread about smooth/easy on equiptment drivers and how much faster they generally are than ham-fisted bitchslap-the-car-around drivers. I give you Exhibit A.
I'm sending all "I burned though your pads in 1 weekend" complaints to you for you to school them on what they're doing wrong. Your car is heavy, FAST, and that's 11 track days on the OE brakes!!!
Rotors still look useable too.
and just so people don't start to hate, I sold my H1 car to John W with about 40% pad material left on a set of 1108's...(no ducting with only the OE splash quards removed)
They were used for the complete 2002 ECHC race year (practice, qual and race) as well as 20Kish street miles, driven to and from the track, plus 3 HPDE weekends in '02 with Car Guys.
Knowing how to brake correctly is the first step, using the correct equipment is the next.

That's right.
Yack, wait till you try the 1109s.
Car, meet brick wall.

I like these pads too.
So far 2 track days at Beaver Run with same autozone rotors and a couple of autocross and they are holding up real nice. Its amazing how late you can break with these pads on my B16 EF. I think I am going to order another set even though I probably won't need them till next year, if they hold up like yours are.

Matt<---doesn't get anywhere near the mileage Yack does. Then again, I suck...

I got 300 track miles, dozens of autocrosses and over 10,000 street miles out of a set of Panther + fronts. Just threw on another set. I'm pretty impressed with Carbotech's stuff.
I had 1108s on my turbo supra 6sp. and thought they were about the best compromise for a pad that I drove on the street and still worked great on a road course work in DEs. Yes the pedal was a little hard for a second when cold. I thought they were fine. 1350 F upper operating range. Blow some air on them and they were good to go in a 3400lb. car.

1108s are the greatest pads on the planet (in my world anyway), plain and simple.
Look for something in the mail soon, Jack. A little "shop display"
Damn I'm tired
