I have seen a stock type R wheel fit a 225 50 15 bfg drag radial but can I fit a 215 on my si wheels? they're 15x6.5

 

yeah it'll be hanging over alittle but 215's should fit..

 

what about 225's I just read a post about someone having 225's on his but I don't know how true it is. this is forced induction related because none of us can get traction

 

I have 205's on my HX wheels and they are 5.5 inches wide. I am guessing you won't have a problem running 225 on 6.5 inch wheels.

 

Are Si wheels 6.5 or 6"?

Either way, Ive seen guys run the 225's on stock GSR wheels which are 6" wide, so you shouldnt have any issues. Possibly some rubbing at full lock depending on your suspension I would say.

 

stock type R wheels are 15x6 and i have 225's on them . so that should answer your question

 

I have seen both 215/50/15 AND 225/50/15 on SI wheels 15x6

Check out the DOT approved slicks for real traction on the streets and keeping it legal I have not tried them but seen them work quite well!

OR BFG drag radials if they even hook up! I wish I could use the BFG's, they are cheaper than DOT street slicks. oh well

Si wheels, as well as ITR wheels, are 6" wide.

they will fit fine, but will ride funny..i had them on my si's wheels...and didn't like it much...too unstable for me..going down the track over 100mph was scary...car goes side to side.....better get 205/50/15 instead...or get wider wheels.

 

would a 7" wide wheel be the ideal width for a 225 tire? or would it be 7.5"?
