Heads get sold without the block all the time.

"VTEC" is VTEC and not v tech.

Any 92~98 SOHC VTEC heads.
Commonly refered to as Z6 for the 92~95 and Y8 for the 96~98.
Z6 and Y8 refer to the respective engine code.
Y8 head is the better choice if you don't plan on any outrageous mods down the road. I mean outrageous mods as in a BIG turbo or something. Y8 head will bump your compression a bit more than the Z6 head.
Z6 head responds to wild setups better. It easily outflows the Y8 head.

You can use your stock ECU and dsitributor along with a VTEC controller to activate VTEC.

If you have a Z6 head then you will need to modifiy or get creative to make your stock distributor fit. YES - you HAVE TO use your stock distributor with your stock ECU. It needs mods to the distributor to allow for setting timing. The Z6 hole pattern is different than your stock distributor so only one bolt fits correctly. The other two are pretty far off. Search for "mini me" to find out more about what needs to be done.

Your stock distributor will bolt right up to the Y8 head without any mods.

Alternatively, you may convert to OBD1 and use the distributor that comes with the head. You will need a P28 ECU, 4 wire O2 sensor, and some wiring mods to complete the OBD1 conversion.
