aftermarket headbolts needed for all motor?
do i need to get aftermarket headbolts for a NA buildup? going to be running alittle over 11-1 comp. and with a full jun head package. thanks!
If you are running around 11:1 CR , the OEM head bolts are good enough but if you want to make your engine to run safer then go ARP and Spoon which they have decent prices.
What makes the Spoon head bolt superior to the ARP, or the stock one?
Nothing has the clamping force of a stud. ARP's do NOT come loose.
In general, I don't think head studs are necessary for allmotor. My friend is doing ARP on his 86mm bore GSR motor.. but that's just safety factor. It's a 5mm overbore, and I would do the same on an application like that.
