Wrecked my Si. Need your guys Opinions.
On June 27, 2004:
An Suv, said to be an expedition, bumped me in the rear and caused me to spin. I lost control and hit the freeway wall with the passenger side of my front end. Then my rear hit and slide for about 50 - 100 feet on the wall. And to top it off the Suv took off and I was to shocked to get the license plate number.
Here are some pics.

Info I want your guys opinions on:
-Car was declared a Total Loss and insurance offered 12,6xx for the car. So I would be getting back about 1,7xx with that offer, due to the fact I still owe on the car. I was wondering if that was a good offer by the insurance (State Farm) or not.
-It is currently being re-evaluated because I sent them receipts for some stuff.
--Should be getting the final figure today and I just wanted your opinions.
-I also may have a car lined up. I haven't seen it yet but a freind told me that its a 92 hatchback w/ 94-95 LS blcok with papers. He said its in good condition but may be needing a paint job soon. The guy is asking 3500. Good price or ...
Thanks.

IMO, I dont think I would ever buy a car w/out the stock motor in it. You never know what has been done, how the work was performed, if any shortcuts were taken, etc...
Get a stock Civic and build up the D. Thats right.....I said it.
Dont waste money on a swap...get off that bandwagon.

you should buy it back for a few hundred (they take it and give you money for it and you buy it back, or they might just give you the difference and the car would be yours) - if that, possibly less than 100 because of its' condition. after that just take the items off if you can, dunno though
but ya may not have room for it but i'm 90% sure you can buy it back w/ state farm because my brother did w/ his 93 a few years back. GL man that really blows

The motor could even be good. See how much they will sell it to you for and maybe you could part some out if you are mechanically challenged like the brakes, seats, cd player, motor/tranny, maybe even the exhaust.
When i got rear ended...the partys insurance company totalled out my car too...granted it was a 90 Accord and not a 99 Si, it came out to 2100 with me keeping the car. Originally they were gonna give me 2900 but i told them i wanted to keep the car so they took out a ductable...i'd definatly keep the car though...it's your car, at least try to make something outta what happend. Good luck
state farm will most likely sell you the car back for 10% and if that is the case and the motor and tranny good, then buy it back and start selling away!
I'd definately try to part out somethings on it. I messed up when I totalled out my 2000 EX....the front end looked like yours but I was so happy to have it done and over with cause I got in a much worse accident the next week. that put me outta work for 10 months so the few bucks I would've made off my car didn't mean much then....but my front end looked like yours.... the rest was perfect

That is a risk you take when buying any car. Who is to say that the stock d series wasn't beat to **** before you bought that?

12,600 is hella good.
These cars aren't that much in demand as they used to be a few years back.
Take that and what you can from the parts you installed on them

You sure about that? I've been with State Farm since 16, under my parents till 17, by myself since. Had about 8 different cars so I know its not a fluke or something they missed. I am only 22 now.
