Default stacking GSR IM secondary plates

I've been doing some research on the GSR manifold in a boosted situation, and I've come across a couple ideas. I've been wondering how these ideas would work: 1) remove the butterflies from the plate and 2) stack multiple secondary plates together to create longer runners. I currently put together a GSR IM with 3 secondary plates (all of them have the butterfiles removed). Can anyone comment on this setup?

The other thing I've heard is to grind out the center section of both the manifold and the plates (so that the short and long runners are combined into 1 big runner per cylinder). How's that sound? I know enough to know that I don't know **** about the design and physics of IM's. Any experience/thoughts?

Interesting idea. Not sure how it will stack up to a Skunk2 manifold. Im sure any machine shop could bore the runners out. Make sure you have some really long studs too!

Are you trying to get more low end torque?

Longer runners is for low end..you want short fat runners for turbo and high hp...you can take the secondary plate out completely and bolt the manifold right back up but it will move the throttle body up and to the right one inch.....

im going to cut one up this weekend ..

That's what's starting to make sense. What kind of tool could be used to grind out the center section of the IM (i.e., combine the 2 runners into 1 big one)?
