I Spray Painted the Trunk Black, looks alot nicer.
I went out to Home Depot and bought 3 cans of glossy black spray paint, any generic kind would do. Ok so i really bought 1 can, then realized that was not gonna do it, and went back out to bought 2 more (naturally the 3rd one i didn't crack open). It was originally red, same color as the car. I think it looks alot nicer and cleaner to go along with my black battery case (summit racing).
And yes, at some point i will be moving the battery to the other side of the car, i have an idea to build a web type box to hold it. It'll be sweet

Yeah definetely took oh say a week? ok so it was 2-3 weeks for that new paint smell to go away. But i drive with the windows down everywhere i go, so didn't much bother me.
Did you notice i left the speakers in? they're just sitting in the encasement. Thought that looked kinda cool. Industrial like.

I did this 2 my rex about 9 months ago. It looked great for about 2 months but it started 2 chip like crazy! 2 anyone looking 2 do this 2 your ride, make sure you primer the surface first before painting with the final paint, or better yet, sand the surface till u can see bare metal then primer and paint. Just my 2 cents. wish someone would have tolk me this earlier so i didn't have 2 do it twice.
Hmmm didn't think about priming it or sanding it down. Its been about, i wanna say at least a month since i did it and looks good so far.
The cable is a 2 gauge, there was an optional 1 gauge, but there is entirely no need for that. I believe the stock is a 3 gauge.
I have not installed a battery cut off switch. Didn't feel the need for one. Do you reccomend? I can take pictures of how i routed it if you want. Do me a favor though, leave me a PM tomorrow. I going to work in the morning and i'll need a reminder when i get home.
As for black being too hot for florida's summers. Nahhhhhh its all gravy. No AC anyway, i park in parking garages at school all the time, roll the windows down, opt. for both windows down if it gets outa hand.

If you want it to look good and stay there for a while you can also use the truck bed liner in a can you can get it at pepboys, autozone ect. It is more durable and still looks good.
