DIY-Window Tint HOW?
Bought a few rolls of window tint for the Crx. Just need help on how to install it all.
I really dont even know where to start, you have to clean the windown the squeegee it on, I just dont know
Also one thing, my Crx rear window is HUGE so you have to use 2 pieces, can they overlap or they have to be ******* exactly perfect?
ANy advise is great and would a bunch
Hope others can use this as well

i did the windows of a 79 civic 1200 i had, the 2 rear side windows were easy, just kinda started in the center and worked my way outwards, then trimmed it when it was done, it looked good. but the rear window had alot of curve to it and sucked ***, sucked enough we decided to screw it and just leave it.
i think the most important part is patience.

can kinda see the windows. well. not really.

$180 VS $38
Hmmmmmm
Any more help. How is it actually applied, when I unroll it do I have to peel something off then stick it on and then work it with the squeegee then trim it?
Wheres the baby shampoo and water come in?
More help!

heard you should buy 3m tint from my cousins friend who tints. Over 100 dollars a roll but its really good tint that doesnt fade into another color. Once you learn to do it real well, you could do it for others and chrage them. lol I'm sure it's not too hard if we knew precisely what to do, or so I've heard.
Is it the right way because youre paying some chump to do something you could easily do with some simple research like this? Or beacuase your way costs 4 times as much? Or because you learn nothing you way?
Hell, buy a motor, let someone else install it, its the right way
Buy a seat, someone else install it
Buy a system, someone else install it
Its the right way isnt it?
ITS CALLED DIY, SOME PEOPLE LIKE LEARNING AND DOING **** THEMSELVES

How much did you pay for the tint?
We usually spend about $85-130 a roll depending on the quality and darkness. We have lifetime warrenty, 20% tint that usually never bubbles or fades, we use it a lot on customers cars.
Its not as easy as it looks, but once you get the hang of it you can do cars in under half hour, the guy who does it for us now can do a civic hatch in under half hour, all windows but the front.
Good luck bro, if you need any help, pm me.. I know quite a bit about this

Well I did it today guys and I think I did amazing, I got the rear hatch window and driver/pass windows pretty much perfect.
BUT
the little shitty *** rear quarter panel windows are fucked
I did the best I could but I could not get rid of about 5 bubbles on each of these windows, so I stuff some playing cards down there to push and keep some of them down hoping that when I come back tomorrow theyll be dry and stuck down there and I can just cut a little slit or somethingand stick it? Will that work
Thanks guys, need to fix that though, other than that, no problem

You seem to be answering your own questions here.
IMO: $130 isnt that much money to me to try to do something myself and risk ******* it up. If I was poor as dirt, sure I would try to DIY it. But honestly, for something like that, I would gladly pay someone else to do it right

<--- poor
And these bubbles are only on both rear quarter little iwdows in one quarter. If I cant just pup them when the titnt sticks good, then Ill cut the 5 inches of corner I isolated them in and put in a new piece

usually tint jobs that cost $180 for our cars is THE BEST tinting you can get. Comes with THE BEST tint material, with THE BEST warranty which is the lifetime warranty. If I had no experience with tinting windows, and everyone said it was not an easy task, i would not risk it. In the future, doing it yourself and not doing it right, or doing it wrong while you actually thought you did it right, can cost as much as a professional job.
I personally would love to learn how to tint windows. I'm a very good DIY'er, but I stopped by a tint shop yesterday and plan on going with them. Here is there site.

They list the different types of films you can choose. Tint jobs ranging from the basic 140 dollar to the premium plus 169 plus tax. If i were you, i'd get my tint professionally done, and then try the DIY on my friends car. shhh... ahaha...
*sorry basic is not $140. It's $119 i beleive. then 149, then 169...

done at home tint jobs will turn out like ****, look like ****, bubble, fade, and peel up at the edges... the quality of the tint, and the materials, and tools and every thing you need would cost you just as much as taking it in, and i bet if you took it in, it would look 10xs better. experience, the work place, and the right tools, all count for a lot.
i did mine, kept getting small bubbles.. so to press them out i used a small baby. I slammed her againts the window until it pressed out the air inside the bubble making the film flat.
